Guns and Abortion…Really. Is there a solution.

Somethings in this world have no solutions. And when people look toward lawmakers the Appeal to Ignorance fallacy asserts that something must be true because it has not been proven false or vice versa. How many gun control legislations have been sent to the House are believable to deter crime while gun violence outsmarts political law? So much gun legislation weaken one’s civil rights to bear arms (2nd Amendment).

Indeed, ‘gun rights’ can be a sore topic not only for men but women identifying as pro-choice or pro-life feel defeated by state and federal statutes, just as gun owners struggle to maintain their 2nd amendment right to bear arms.

Subsequently women held about 25% of all concealed carry permits in 2024, and rising significantly in the 21st century; are the fastest-growing group of new gun owners, and a primary purpose for concealed carry is personal protection (Google search).

WHAT ABOUT ABORTIONS:

In the 1960’s not many gave a ‘hoot’ about Roe vs. Wade, until The case was brought by Norma McCorvey under the legal pseudonym ‘Jane Doe;’ “Norma McCorvey—who, in 1969 became pregnant, while Texas, abortions were illegal then and only when necessary to save the life of the mother.

McCorvey’s two attorneys (S. Waddington & L. Coffee)filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. federal court against its ( Texas) local district attorney.  Norma McCorvey, alleging one having an abortion should be legal. A special court council to reviewing McCorvey’s lawsuit was appointed, and the case ruled in her favor.

In January 1973, the Supreme Court issued a 7–2 decision holding in favor of Norma McCorvey, that the Constitution provides a fundamental right to privacy, protecting a woman’s right to an abortion. However, it also held that the right to abortion is not absolute and must be balanced against the government’s interest in protecting both women’s health and prenatal life (as cited Wikipedia).

Since the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in in 1973 (SEE: Roe vs. Wade), and based on one’s right to privacy, , a framework for abortion access sparked ongoing debate for decades, ultimately led to the case being overturned in 2022.  , President Donald Trump did not personally return abortion rights to the states as many Americans speculated. The U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, on June 24, 2022, is what overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated the federal constitutional right to abortion. The ruling left the legality of abortion up to individual states.

The Guttmacher Institute, an estimated 1,038,000 abortion were performed in the United States in 2023.  This represents a slight decrease from the previous year when there were approximately 1,019,000 abortions. The Society of Family Planning reported approximately 1.14 million abortions in the US for 2024. Preliminary data from the first half of 2025 suggests a slight decline from the same period in 2024 (Google search).

Various methodologies by several organizations support or not issues defending gun rights or abortion. There is no satisfying agenda on either subject__and really, there is no solution. With the matter of school shootings there is no consistent number provided since the 1980s.According to data compiled by the Norma McCorvey there have been over 1,500 mass shootings in the U.S. since the beginning of 2023. . As of October 14, 2025, 340 mass shootings are reported (Goggle search.

TWO RECENT ACTS OF GUN VIOLENCE…

Charlie Kirk: Political activist, entrepreneur, and media personality. He co-founded the conservative student organization Turning Point USA in 2012 and served as its executive director until his assassination on September 2025 (as cited, Wikipedia). Mr. Kirk was shot and killed speaking at Utah Valley University; Charlie was a close ally of President Donald Trump, having a beautiful family.. Charlie Kirk was assassinated by a killers bullet from Tyler Robinson an unknown 22 year old young adult.

Luigi Mangione, accused of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, on December 4, 2024, outside a hotel in Midtown Manhattan where he was attending an investor conference. Luigi Mangione, a 27-year-old from a wealthy Baltimore family, was arrested five days later in Pennsylvania. By Mangione’s arrest, police found a 3D-printed “ghost gun” with a silencer, fake IDs, and a notebook with notes expressing hostility toward the health insurance industry (Google search).

Expecting lawmakers to enact laws on every type of homemade (3D w/silencer) and or a self-manufactured firearms __and how many HOUSE MEMBERS perhaps are gun owners, would be impossible to enact harsher gun restrictions. Americans enjoy a free enterprise system and the twenty-firth century provides internet purchasing power,

Each time a shooting occurs-especially multiple shootings, its almost immediate Americans and lawmakers rally to ‘House Bill’ a new passage against guns or another abortion ban when a clinic is attacked. Its time to turn away from taking civil rights from people, and look closer at the conduct of one’s action (s), not only through the justice system but treatment before the commission of a crime. The national crime rates rise and intensify each year. And without speculation, It seems enactments of laws are design to punish the innocent from FREE CHOICE.
